Renée Zellweger is making her Only Murders in the Building debut with an unexpected beauty transformation: bright red hair. The Bridget Jones actress, who has long been known for her dirty blonde locks, was spotted on the streets of New York City while filming the Hulu drama. Her new hair was cut to her shoulders, softly curled, and set in a sensible side part. It’s unclear, however, if the ‘do is a wig for the character or the real deal.

Only Murders has received critical acclaim since its premiere back in 2021. The show has taken home a whopping seven Emmys, including for production design, sound mixing, and music composition. Last year, Gomez called season four “our most exciting season yet.”
“How it came together was so magical,” she told The Hollywood Reporter. “Everyone had a blast. And people are in for a ride, you know. Taking us to L.A. and then doing all the other stuff is exciting.”

As for Zellweger? Following a long career on the big screen, the actress only recently made her TV debut with What/If, back in 2019. Most recently, she reprised her role as Bridget Jones for the long-awaited Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy opposite of Hugh Grant.
“I love how open she is. I love her physicality,” Zellweger said of her character in the film. “I love that she walks like a good person and she’s open to everything…and I love that she’s constantly, authentically charming and herself. And I love that she doesn’t mean anybody’s standard idea about beauty or success, but she triumphs anyway by forging her own path.”
