Chelsea are relaxed about finding a solution for Raheem Sterling this summer, although their preference is to sell the winger according to reports.

Sterling joined Chelsea in 2022 from Manchester City for £50m, but his career has been on steady decline since making the move.

The England international had a difficult time in his first two years at the club, and was even booed by Chelsea supporters at one stage.

Chelsea relaxed about finding solution for Raheem Sterling

Sterling played a part in pre-season under Enzo Maresca, but then wasn’t part of the squad for the opening game of last season against Manchester City.

Things moved quickly and it was evident his career at Chelsea was over, and Sterling ended up sealing a season long loan to Arsenal.

Sterling’s difficulties continued with the Gunners as he managed just one goal in 28 appearances in all competitions.

Arsenal won’t be signing Sterling on a permanent basis, and the 30-year-old has now returned to Chelsea where he’s training at Cobham with the “bomb squad.”

Chelsea face the difficult challenge of finding Sterling a new home, and they will be desperate to get his reported £325,000 per week wages off their books.

The Sun have reported Chelsea and Sterling are relaxed about finding a solution, with the Blues hoping to recoup £20m for the winger, with their preference a permanent sale.

Getting the wages of the books are more important than the transfer fee, but it has been reported Sterling could leave for free, and it will be interesting to see where he ends up next season.

Leeds considering move for Ben Chilwell

Sterling isn’t the only high earner Chelsea are looking to move on, with the club also needing to find a new home for Ben Chilwell.

Chilwell’s Chelsea career is over and he spent the second half of the season on loan at Crystal Palace, where he was part of the squad which won the FA Cup.

There’s been little update on his future, but Leeds United are reportedly exploring a move for Chilwell with other Premier League clubs believed to be interested.
