Like most other cruise lines, Princess Cruises offers a loyalty program that rewards repeat guests with a variety of benefits and perks. Princess’ loyalty program, called Captain’s Circle, features four tiers that guests move through as they continue to sail with the line. In our guide to the Princess Cruises Captain’s Circle program, we’re going over how to sign up and accrue credits, as well as each tier and the associated benefits.
How do you sign up for the Princess Cruises loyalty program?
There’s no need to sign up for Princess Cruises Captain’s Circle program! You’re automatically enrolled following your first cruise. To manage your cruises and access information on your loyalty program status, you can create an online Princess Cruises account via this link.
How do you earn credits in Princess’ Captain’s Circle loyalty program?
There are two paths you can take to move up the ranks in Princess’ loyalty program. Firstly, you can move up the ranks simply based on the number of individual cruises you take. For example, you reach Ruby after completing three cruises and Elite after completing 15. If you tend to take shorter sailings, this is likely the fastest way you’ll move into higher tiers.
However, if you tend to take longer voyages less frequently, that method won’t move you up as quickly. This brings us to the second track: days sailed. Not only does each cruise count, but individual days spent on board count as well. For example, you can reach Ruby by taking three cruises or by spending 30 days at sea with Princess — whichever comes first. You reach the highest tier, Elite, after completing 15 cruises or by sailing with Princess for 150 days.
As a bonus, if you book and sail in a full suite or pay the exclusive occupancy fare when traveling solo, you’ll receive two cruise credits instead of one. However, it won’t double your cruise count. So, if you book a suite for a seven-night cruise, you’ll receive two cruise credits but will only receive seven day credits.

Princess Cruises Captain’s Circle Tiers and Benefits
How many levels are in Princess’ Captain’s Circle loyalty program?
There are four tiers in the Princess Cruises loyalty program:
- Gold: received after taking one cruise
- Ruby: received after completing three cruises or 30 cruise days
- Platinum: received after completing five cruises or 50 cruise days
- Elite: received after completing 15 cruises or 150 cruise days
What benefits do you receive in each tier of Princess’ loyalty program?
Gold
You reach the first tier in the Princess Cruises Captain’s Circle program, Gold, after you’ve completed your first cruise. This tier includes mostly pre-cruise and online perks such as early access to new itineraries, preferential pricing offers, Captain’s Circle Launch Savings, and access to Circle Center Online and a Circle Savings Account. On board, Gold guests have access to a dedicated Circle Host and members-only events.
Ruby
Once you’ve completed three cruises or cruised with Princess for at least 30 days, you achieve Ruby status. This tier adds two additional benefits, the first being at-home access to a Captain’s Circle Help Desk phone line. The second is an upgrade to Princess’ Platinum Vacation Protection plan when you purchase a standard Princess travel insurance plan. The upgrade includes a 100 percent cancellation benefit, double accident and sickness benefits, and expanded medical expenses and evacuation coverage.

Platinum
Platinum, which you reach after completing five cruises or 50 cruise days, is where the benefits start to get good. In addition to the previous benefits, you receive early access to onboard dining reservations and access to an exclusive lounge just for Platinum and Elite loyalty members. Platinum also affords you discounts on board: 50 percent off MedallionNet wifi packages, 10 percent off spa treatments, and a 10 percent discount at the Photo Gallery.
Elite
Elite is the highest tier in the Princess Cruises loyalty program, which is reached after you complete 15 cruises or sail for 150 days. Princess Cruises rewards its most loyal guests with a plethora of additional benefits.
For starters, there are a variety of food and beverage perks for Elite members: access to a complimentary Grapevine Wine Tasting event, complimentary afternoon tea in your stateroom, a complimentary mini-bar setup, and a deluxe canapé selection on formal nights. Elite guests also receive priority ship-to-shore tender embarkation, priority disembarkation, and complimentary laundry services and shoe polishing. A 10 percent discount in The Shops of Princess and 10 percent off shore excursions booked through Princess are also Elite tier perks.

Princess Cruises Captain’s Circle Frequently Asked Questions
If I become eligible for the next tier during my cruise, will my additional benefits apply right away?
No, you will only move up to the next tier following the completion of that cruise. Princess’ website says “members are eligible for a higher tier level on the next cruise following completion of necessary cruises and/or cruise days.”
Does Princess Cruises have reciprocal status matching with other Carnival Corporation cruise brands?
Unfortunately, Princess Cruises does not do status matching with any other cruise lines, unlike other brands such as Royal Caribbean.
Can kids join the Princess Cruises Captain’s Circle loyalty program?
Yes! After their first cruise, kids and teens become Captain’s Circle members just like adults do. They move through the ranks and enjoy the same perks as everyone else (except for age-restricted benefits such as the mini-bar setup or wine tasting).
Can I lose status in the Princess Cruises loyalty program?
No, once you reach a status level on Princess Cruises, you will have that status (or higher) for life. This is in contrast to the recent changes to Carnival’s loyalty program.
