Almost As Strong As the Best One

Some early info about Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 8
Gen 5 chip just dropped, and it’s already making waves. Well-known
leaker @Digital Chat Station shared the full specs and early
test results. This gives us a glimpse of what to expect from this chip. Rumours claim that its power may be equal to the Snapdragon 8
Elite Edition.

How It’s Made

The Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 is built using TSMC’s
advanced 3nm N3P process. The chip should run on
Qualcomm’s custom Oryon CPU. This chip is built for speed and efficiency.
It also has eight cores in total. This includes two ultra-fast cores clocking 3.8GHz for heavy tasks, and six performance cores running
at 3.32GHz.

This core setup keeps everything smooth when your
phone’s under pressure. The chip uses the same
basic technology as the Ultra Edition, but it is set to run just a tiny bit
slower.

Proof of Power

The early test scores
prove how powerful this chip is. On the AnTuTu
test, it scored over 3.3 million points.
That’s a huge number that shows its serious speed. For the Geekbench 6 test, it hit about 3,000 for single-core speed and
almost 10,000 for tasks that use many
cores at once.

Even for intense gaming, it managed about 100 frames per second in a tough
graphics test. These scores clearly show that the main computing power of the 8
Gen 5 is practically equal to the highest-end Ultra Edition chip.

Where You’ll See It

Qualcomm already told
us they were bringing back this standard flagship chip, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5, at their
event back in September. Now we have the technical proof.

You can expect this
super-fast new chip to show up in upcoming phones from major brands like OnePlus, vivo, iQOO, Motorola, and Meizu. However, there is no info on the first device to use this chip.
