Manchester United’s winning run came to a halt at Nottingham Forest, as the Red Devils struggled to dominate the game at City Ground from start to finish.
The visitors drew the first blood as Casemiro scored from a well-placed header in the 34th minute. In the second half, Forest enjoyed a period of dominance and scored two quick goals, taking advantage of United’s lacklustre defending.
Casemiro, in particular, looked tired as the game progressed and his lack of pace often left United vulnerable in transition. The 34-year-old has largely been a positive presence in the middle of the park, but the club’s hierarchy recognise the need for a younger addition.
Manchester United keen on Elliot Anderson
It has been widely reported that United are among the clubs interested in Elliot Anderson.
On Saturday, Amorim got a first-hand view of the 22-year-old’s quality in the 2-2 draw.
Anderson frequently dribbled his way out of trouble and helped his side move higher up the field. His incisive passing helped Forest launch quick attacks.
Out of possession, the Englishman was tenacious, winning all of his attempted tackles. He also recovered the ball 14 times.

Man United ready to make offer for Anderson
According to Fichajes, United have “taken decisive steps” to sign Anderson in the winter transfer window.
It is claimed United are “preparing an offer” of around £70m in their bid to sign Anderson in January ahead of rivals Chelsea and Manchester City.
Anderson reportedly fits the profile of midfielder United have been looking for.
Further, there is a belief he can become a key part of their project for years to come, justifying their potential £70m outlay.
Accordingly, Ineos want to act swiftly and are ready to make a move for the England international.
