Prince William Makes ‘Dancing With the Stars’ Debut With a Message for Robert Irwin

Tom Bergeron thinks the proof is in the pudding.

During his time as guest judge on the 20th birthday episode of Dancing With the Stars on Nov. 11—marking his first time back in the ballroom since his shocking firing in 2020—Tom used his last moments on camera to issue a plea to ABC rather than critique Alix Earle and Robert Irwin’s relay dance.

“You guys were great,” he told the celebrity contestants and their guest partners, Joey Graziadei and Xochitl Gomez. “But in my last comments as a judge, I want to talk directly to the network.”

Turning his gaze towards the camera, Tom continued, “This show is setting ratings records again, so next season bring back the results show. Let the whole country vote. Let everybody vote.”

The request—which was greeted by cheers from the seated audience—refers to the now defunct, two-episode format of Dancing With the Stars which saw the performances on one night followed by a results episode the next night in which the couple with the lowest score and least votes was eliminated.
