WWE’s biggest names are taking a break from the ring to step into the animated jungle—literally. Roman Reigns and CM Punk have been officially cast as zebra police officers in Disney’s upcoming sequel, “Zootopia 2,” set to hit theaters on November 26.
The casting news was confirmed by Paradigm agent Nick LoPiccolo, who represents both WWE megastars. This marks another major Hollywood move for both Punk and Reigns, who are juggling in-ring action with film projects.
For Roman Reigns, who hasn’t appeared on WWE television since losing to Bronson Reed at Crown Jewel, the film adds to a growing Hollywood résumé. The “Original Tribal Chief” has already made voice appearances in Rumble and The Jetsons & WWE: Robo-WrestleMania!, and is also set to appear in the upcoming live-action Street Fighter film.
CM Punk, the reigning WWE World Heavyweight Champion, brings plenty of acting experience to the table as well. He’s appeared in Girl on the Third Floor, Heels, Rabid, and a slew of other film and TV projects.
Interestingly, both men are also rumored to be part of the same team in the Men’s WarGames Match at the upcoming WWE Survivor Series: WarGames event, set for Petco Park in San Diego, CA later this month. That potential alliance on screen and in the ring has fans speculating if this crossover is just the beginning.
Will Punk and Reigns deliver a memorable performance as animated zebra cops? Or will this duo’s on-screen chemistry lead to even bigger moves in Hollywood? Let us know what you think in the comments.
