American Jarrell Miller pulls out of Fabio Wardley fight

Jarrell Miller has withdrawn from his WBA Interim heavyweight title fight with Fabio Wardley.

The event due to take place at Portman Road on June 7 is believed to still be going ahead, with a replacement opponent set to be announced shortly.

It’s not been revealed exactly why Miller has withdrawn yet.

Fabio Wardley is the WBA #1, and there’s a whole host of credible opponents just beneath him in the world rankings, such as Michael Hunter and Filip Hrgovic.

The 30-year-old Ipswich FC fan last fought in October 2024, where he defeated British rival Frazer Clarke in their rematch to retain his British, Commonwealth and WBA Continental titles.

Now unbeaten in 19 bouts, with three defences of his WBA belt, he has earned his No.1 ranking with the World Boxing Association.

There will be an announcement shortly as to who his replacement opponent will be, but if it’s still going to be for the WBA Interim title, then it will have to be an opponent with a world-ranking.
