If you’ve been on Celebrity Cruises, you probably know that the fleet offers a consistently high standard of service and amenities, so even the “worst” ship is far from bad.

However, there are still those small details that can make a difference.

Below you’ll find the ranking of all the line’s active cruise ships (excluding the small Galápagos expedition vessels like the Xpedition class) from worst to best based on overall guest experience (including service, dining, entertainment, accommodations, layout, amenities, and passenger satisfaction).

13. Celebrity Infinity

Celebrity Infinity

Celebrity Infinity is currently the lowest-ranked ship in the fleet, primarily because she was overdue for upgrades until recently. Her planned 2020 renovation was delayed, and some older reviews noted worn areas that “needed a lot of attention”.

The good news is that Infinity finally received a revitalizing refit in spring 2024, updating cabins and public spaces to modern standards.

Guests who sail on Infinity love the calm and intimate atmosphere, but this ship lacks some of the glitzy features found on newer ones.

The service and food quality earned high marks, and now that its facilities have been refreshed, Infinity may climb in future rankings, but historically, the combination of its age and more limited entertainment and amenities kept it at the bottom of the list.

12. Celebrity Apex

Celebrity Apex
Celebrity Apex

As one of Celebrity’s cutting-edge Edge-class ships, Celebrity Apex is visually stunning and has many innovative amenities.

Foe example, Apex features the revolutionary “Magic Carpet”, a cantilevered platform that rides up and down the ship’s side, serving as a bar, restaurant, and tender platform, providing a fun new way to enjoy the sea views.

Speaking about the inside, Apex feels luxurious and modern with expansive spaces and plenty of dining options.

Despite these wow-factor features, Apex has received slightly more mixed feedback from guests compared to the other ships in the fleet. Some cruisers report that service and food quality on this large new ship have been inconsistent at times.

These occasional problems have tempered the overall satisfaction scores for Apex, even though they are usually minor issues..

11. Celebrity Constellation

Celebrity Constellation
Celebrity Constellation

Celebrity Constellation (often referred to as “Connie” by its fans) is a smaller, more intimate ship that appeals to cruisers who prefer a relaxed atmosphere.

For years, Constellation’s scheduled modernization in 2020 was postponed, leaving parts of the ship feeling dated. That long-awaited upgrade was finally completed in early 2024, bringing refreshed cabins and venues to this 20-year-old ship.

Passengers appreciate Constellation for its quiet ambiance and emphasis on relaxation. You won’t find water slides or huge parties, guests usually enjoy lounging by the pool by day and indulging in Celebrity’s signature dining and wine in the evenings.

Obviously, the trade-off is fewer onboard activities and a less vibrant nightlife compared to larger ships. Make sure you choose it consciously. It’s not the best option if you enjoy having fun and partying with your friends!

10. Celebrity Millennium

Celebrity Millennium
Celebrity Millennium

Celebrity Millennium is known for being the oldest ship in the fleet. However, it’s not something you would say thanks to the extensive “Celebrity Revolution” renovation it underwent in 2019.

This renovation updated most of the ship’s areas including the cabins, restaurants, bars and lounges, bringing her “up to date” with a modern look.

As a result, Millennium continues to impress guests with elegant public spaces and the attentive service Celebrity is known for.

Cruisers who choose Millennium often do so for the destinations (it reaches some exclusive destinations in Asia and Alaska) and appreciate its smaller size, which can offer a more personalized experience.

Reviews frequently praise the crew’s friendliness and the ship’s food, but also point out a few drawbacks. Daytime activities are on the lighter side, and some find the evening shows and entertainment a bit repetitive.

Like the previous one, also Millennium could not be the best choice for thrill-seekers or those craving a mega-ship resort experience. It’s more about classic cruising, so make sure you understand this so you are not disappointed in expectations.

9. Celebrity Beyond

Celebrity Beyond
Celebrity Beyond

Celebrity Beyond is one of the newest and most advanced ships in the fleet, with the innovative Edge-class design that (I personally think) perfectly balances between indoor and outdoor spaces.

Beyond is slightly larger than her earlier sisters (Edge and Apex), which allowed Celebrity to add and expand some venues. For example, you’ll notice an enlarged Rooftop Garden and a stunning multi-level Sunset Bar at the aft of the ship.

Guests love the ship’s sleek look and the variety of places to relax and dine onboard.

Many passengers also left very positive reviews for the high-tech evening entertainment in the grand theater and the Eden lounge both for creativity and production value.

Speaking about the overall score, especially during its early sailings, some cruisers felt service didn’t always match Celebrity’s usual standard, reporting occasional long lines and slow bar service.

These kinks have been improving over time, but they initially pulled down Beyond’s overall guest satisfaction. However, as these issues fade, Celebrity Beyond may climb higher, but for now, it remains at the bottom part of the ranking.

8. Celebrity Summit

Celebrity Summit
Celebrity Summit

Celebrity Summit is one of the older midsize ships, but the 2019 refurbishment, which included both cabins and public areas, has successfully made it into a ship with an overall modern feel.

Many cruisers affectionately call Summit the “friendly ship,” noting that its smaller size makes it easy to navigate and usually offers guests a more personalized service. In addition, various reviews also praise the food quality, both at the buffet and in the main dining room.

As usual with ships of this size, the experience is quite relaxed, and the entertainment and activities can feel a bit subdued. It ranks at #8 for its intimate atmosphere and great service, but it can’t compete with newer and bigger ships.

7. Celebrity Edge

Celebrity Edge
Celebrity Edge

The Celebrity Edge marked a new era for Celebrity with its debut. As many of you will remember, it introduced groundbreaking features that have since become signatures of the brand.

She was the first of the Edge Class and helped modernize the fleet with a stunning design. On this ship, every space feels stylish and contemporary, from the open airy Rooftop Garden to the mid-ship atrium that serves as a chic social spot.

In addition, Celebrity Edge introduced the Infinite Veranda cabins, which have glass walls that open to transform into a balcony-like experience, maximizing cabin space and ocean views.

Despite many positive reviews, not everyone has been won over completely by the new design. Some loyal Celebrity cruisers comment that Edge is “a bit more style over substance,” noting that the cabins can feel slightly smaller and that while entertainment is technologically impressive, it can be somewhat repetitive.

Others simply prefer the atmosphere of the preceding Solstice Class, which they feel more strongly embodies the classic Celebrity vibe.

These somewhat contrasting aspects place Celebrity Edge right in the middle of the ranking.

6. Celebrity Solstice

Celebrity Solstice
Celebrity Solstice

Let’s move on to the upper part of the ranking with Celebrity Solstice, the namesake of the famous Solstice Class and the ship that first introduced several of Celebrity’s most unique features.

One of the most iconic is the half-acre Lawn Club on the top deck, complete with lawn games and Adirondack chairs. A “game-changing” concept that is still unique in cruising.

I also like to underline that Solstice set the tone for Celebrity’s focus on elegant design. Its public areas are wonderfully spacious and inviting, and the atmosphere on board is warm and upscale (a feature that Celebrity continues to maintain with new ships).
The downsides? Well, after well over a decade in service, a few aspects of the ship are starting to show their age. You can expect minor decor wear and tear, and for this reason, a refurbishment is scheduled for 2026.

In addition, the food is generally appreciated on this ship, but there have been some recent negative reviews, especially about a recent menu change.

5. Celebrity Silhouette

Celebrity Silhouette
Celebrity Silhouette

An interesting thing about Celebrity Silhouette is that it brings you the beloved Solstice-class features with the benefit of a recent bow-to-stern refresh.

Guests sailing on Silhouette usually enjoy the familiar highlights like the Lawn Club (complete with its Lawn Club Grill for outdoor dining) and a beautiful Solarium pool.

The ship has very good reviews for onboard entertainment and activities, many cruisers note that there’s more than enough to do on sea days, from engaging shows to live music.

The service on Silhouette is also often described as excellent, with a friendly crew that makes every cruise memorable.

One common critique, like with the Solstice, is aimed at the dining changes. Some passengers feel that the fleet-wide menu simplifications have reduced the variety of high-end options available.

That’s a pretty big drawback for food lovers and anyone who likes to keep trying new dishes.

However, thanks to the combination of the updated design and a well-rounded onboard experience, Celebrity Silhouette ranks among the top five Celebrity ships.

4. Celebrity Eclipse

Celebrity Eclipse
Celebrity Eclipse

Celebrity Eclipse has long been a favorite for travelers seeking a premium, relaxing cruise.

As the third Solstice-class ship, Eclipse carries all the class’s hallmark features: a beautiful Lawn Club up top, sophisticated dining venues (including the French-themed Murano restaurant), and plenty of cozy lounges.

Passengers often highlight the spacious pool deck and the numerous quiet indoor spaces (like the library and card room) where you can unwind totally in peace.

Eclipse’s crew also maintains the high service standards Celebrity is known for and on the culinary side, it seems to escape some of the food complaints that a couple of its sister ships have faced.

Please note that a renovation is planned for 2025 (mostly cosmetic) because the ship is starting to show its age. It might be a smart idea to choose it after these upgrades.

3. Celebrity Reflection

Celebrity Reflection
Celebrity Reflection

Celebrity Reflection is the largest of the Solstice-class sisters and was the final one to be built, incorporating a few extra enhancements into the design.

Basically, the cruise line decided to add an extra deck of cabins and even one of cruising’s most spectacular suites: the 1,600+ square foot Reflection Suite, famous for its cantilevered glass shower with sea views. I’ll drop a pic below.

A very important thing is that Reflection’s design gives the ship a spacious, uncrowded feel despite carrying just over 3,000 passengers at full capacity. If you’ve looked at the Royal Caribbean ship rankings, you’ve probably noticed that when it comes to the larger ships, most people gripe about how crowded they are.

Reflection also offers a wide array of dining venues, from casual to upscale, keeping foodies happy, and many reviews underlined that the crew goes “above and beyond” to make the cruise special.

Remember that, if you’re happy with the service, the crew always appreciates a tip. Take a look at my article where I break down how much you should tip the cruise staff.

2. Celebrity Equinox

Celebrity Equinox
Celebrity Equinox

Celebrity Equinox is often cited as one of the best all-around ships in the Celebrity fleet, and it’s easy to see why it’s near the top of this list.

Despite being a mid-aged ship, Equinox’s careful 2019 refurbishment kept the style and facilities feeling fresh and up to date.

It basically perfectly shows the Celebrity Cruises atmosphere: modern luxury with a laid-back twist.

Another positive thing is that Equinox is popular among a wide range of travelers, from couples to families, because it offers plenty of activities (she even runs summer Caribbean sailings geared toward families) yet retains a relaxed, never-crowded vibe.

As one travel writer noted, it’s “surprising to see a ship from 2009 this close to the top,” but guests really love Equinox for its laid-back vibe and well-kept spaces.

It could be a good choice, especially for first-time Celebrity cruisers who love mid-size ships. Celebrity Equinox proudly earns the #2 ranking.

1. Celebrity Ascent

Celebrity Ascent
Celebrity Ascent

Celebrity Ascent is the newest ship in the fleet (launched in 2023) and has swiftly risen to become its very best in terms of guest experience.

Ascent takes the already groundbreaking Edge-class platform and adds even more. First, it’s slightly larger than the original Edge, allowing for additional innovations.

Secondly, Ascent offers more solo cabins for single travelers and features new venues (such as a private karaoke and media room available for group bookings) that earlier ships didn’t have.

Most passengers love the interior, and many reviews talked about an absolutely “stunning” design with elegant, contemporary spaces at every turn.

Cruisers have also been impressed with the service levels on this new flagship. Despite her size, the staff are attentive and quick to respond to any needs. With its blend of cutting-edge amenities (like the Magic Carpet and lush Rooftop Garden), luxurious accommodations, and excellent food and service, Ascent truly delivers a “premium experience” on all fronts.

I’m surprised to see Ascent at the top of the list too. Usually, new ships don’t get the best reviews right away, especially while the crew is still finding its groove and those little launch-day issues are being worked out.

But if you check out the updated 2025 Carnival ship rankings, you’ll see the same thing happened there. Maybe cruise lines are just getting better at launching new ships with great service from the start?

I’ll let you decide, but in the meantime, take a look at the new ships getting ready to set sail soon.
