Lego Super Mario fans have another opportunity to add the retired Donkey Kong’s Tree House playset to your collection at a discounted price. As part of its Prime Big Deal Days sale, Amazon is selling the 555-piece set for only $42 (was $60). The Tree House comes with buildable Donkey Kong and Cranky Kong figures and has multiple interactive elements when paired with Mario, Luigi, or Peach from the Starter Sets.
Amazon’s deal is especially notable because the set–and the other three it launched alongside–were discontinued by Lego in late 2024. All four disappeared from major retailers earlier this year, but Amazon restocked them a few months ago and remains the only retailer selling these sets.
At the moment, Amazon has three of the four Donkey Kong sets in stock (shipped/sold by Amazon). Donkey Kong’s Tree House has the largest discount, but you can also save on Dixie Kong’s Jungle Jam. Rambi the Rhino is currently full price, but it’s only $11. Fans can also save on Donkey Kong & DK Jumbo from the Mario Kart Lego series. Surprisingly, Donkey Kong’s Mario Kart set is already listed as “retiring soon,” so it will soon disappear from stores just like the other ones.
Retired & Retiring Soon Lego Super Mario Deals
On that note, here’s a short list of deals on Lego Mario and Donkey Kong sets that are either retired or are scheduled to retire soon, including King Boo’s Haunted Mansion for $65 (was $75) and Battle with Roy at Peach’s Castle for $52 (was $65).
It’s not retiring soon, but it’s definitely worth mentioning here: The Lego Super Mario Piranha Plant is on sale for only $35 (was $60) this week at Amazon and Walmart.
Take a closer look at DK’s Tree House and the other four sets featuring members of the Kong family. Lego set below.
$42 (was $60) | Retired November 2024

Donkey Kong’s Tree House Expansion Set lets you build the iconic treehouse that DK calls home. The 555-piece set isn’t a “level” with enemies like some other Lego Super Mario sets, though Cranky Kong will give Lego Mario, Luigi, or Peach coins. Any of the three interactive Lego Super Mario figures can attach to Donkey Kong’s back. Cranky Kong is also included in this set, along with a hammock, conga drums, palm trees, a Bowser flag, and a Warp Pipe.
Of the four Donkey Kong Lego sets that released in August 2023, Donkey Kong’s Tree House has been the hardest to find since Lego retired it. As mentioned, DK’s playset had been sold out for most of 2025 and isn’t available at other retailers.
$21.74 (was $27) | Retired October 2024

Dixie Kong’s Jungle Jam is a stage for live music. Your Lego Mario figure can accompany Dixie, who is shredding on an electric guitar. Squawks is behind the mic, and we’d like to imagine Squawks is parroting a track sung by young Pauline from Donkey Kong Bananza.
Dixie Kong’s Jungle Jam is 174 pieces and is up for grabs for $21.74 at Amazon. This set is sold out at all other retailers.
$90 (was $110) | Retired November 2024

Note: Amazon is sold out of the Mine Cart Ride set, but you can buy it for a discount from a reseller, and your order will ship from Amazon.
Mine cart levels have always been some of the most challenging and dynamic course types in the Donkey Kong Country series, so this was always a fitting choice for a DK Lego set.
Diddy Kong’s Mine Cart Ride nods back to Mole Miner Max, a boss fight from Donkey Kong Country Returns. It’s the largest Donkey Kong-themed set, clocking in at 1,157 pieces. The kit comes with buildable figures of Diddy Kong, Funky Kong, Mole Miner, and Chomps.
In terms of the play aspect here, the mine cart will interact with Mario, Luigi, or Peach figures. Your job is fix the track and beat the Mole Miner at the end. In addition to the mine cart and rail system, you can build Funky Kong’s airplane, which is complete with the balloons he sells in the game and a barrel.
$11 | Retired November 2024

Rambi the Rhino is a 106-piece set that features the beloved longtime character and a few stackable rocks to break–as long as DK doesn’t smash through them first. You can place the Donkey Kong and other Kong Lego figures on his back, but like most Lego Super Mario sets, Rambi was designed with Mario/Luigi/Peach figures in mind.
When you tap one of the figures against Rambi’s back, the figure’s speaker will play Donkey Kong Country music. Stomping and charging sound effects are made while riding around.
Rambi the Rhino is available for $11 at Amazon. This set is sold out at all other retailers.
$28.49 (was $35) | Retiring Soon

As mentioned, Donkey Kong & DK Jumbo isn’t retired yet, but it is retiring soon, making it the first Mario Kart Lego set to be discontinued following its debut at the beginning of 2025.
The 387-piece build features a barrel-inspired kart that can fling red and green shells at a target that’s topped with a banana peel. Perhaps most importantly, it comes with a buildable Donkey Kong figure that’s very similar to the one included with the Tree House.
Donkey Kong & DK Jumbo is on sale for $28.49 at Amazon, which is an all-time low price.
