TNA Wrestling’s Bound For Glory 2025 saw the Hardys beat Team 3D in an epic tables match, effectively retiring Team 3D in the process. While there were plenty of other great matches on the show, Matt Hardy claimed that their match was the real draw for the event.
Matt Hardy took to Twitter and explained that the match featured strong storytelling and their own creative touch, not meant to copy Ric Flair vs. Shawn Michaels.
Hardy made it clear he wasn’t disrespecting the rest of the roster but believed that the Hardy Boyz vs. Dudley Boyz rivalry was the real draw that helped set the record. He said that no matter what critics say online, the Hardy Boyz still sell tickets in 2025.
“This match def consisting of strong storytelling, @Graannt . It wasn’t meant to be a Flair/HBK finish, it had our own personal spin on it. Not to be disrespectful towards the rest of the amazing roster on this show, but this is the match that set the new attendance record. People cared about the Hardy/Dudley rivalry. Doesn’t matter what internet nobodies say on social media, The Hardy Boyz sell tickets in 2025.”
Matt compared the Bound for Glory match to The Final Deletion from 2016, saying it might be divisive at first, but over time, people will see it as a masterclass by four veterans with over 30 years of experience each.
Hardy called the match historic and special, expressing pride in himself, Jeff Hardy, Bully Ray, and D-Von Dudley for creating magic one last time, and thanked TNA for giving them the platform.
“The Hardys/Dudleys match at BFG 2025 reminds me of The Final Deletion from 2016. It’s initially gonna be polarizing & people will either love it or hate it. As time passes, people will look back at this match as a masterclass performed by four 30 year+ grizzled vets. This match was historic & special. So while many fans may or may not agree with what Matt Hardy claimed, there’s no denying it was one of Bound for Glory’s biggest matches and no one can take that away from them.
