Marissa Da’Nae is not here for the name shaming, especially when it comes to her son. After a post criticizing the unique spelling of her and NLE Choppa’s baby boy’s name made rounds on social media, Marissa took to X (formerly Twitter) to set the record straight. And let’s just say, she had time.

Marissa Da’Nae Pops Off After Tweet Goes Viral

Oop! Marissa DaNae had the timeline buzzing Wednesday afternoon after clapping back at a viral post that called out her son’s name. It all started when an Instagram user posted a throwback photo of NLE Choppa announcing the birth of his baby boy captioned, “NLE Choppa and his kid ChoZen Wone Da’Shun Potts. 8/16/23”. The post was later shared on X, where one user commented, “Gave that lil n**** a gamertag.” It’s safe to say Marrissa was not here for the comment, responding, “Be cool on my son, b****.”

She didn’t stop there. Marissa followed up with a series of tweets clarifying the correct spelling of her son’s name, emphasizing that it’s Chozen—not “ChoZen,” as many online users have been posting. She continued, writing, “And I want you m******s to stop acting like Chozen is just a wild a** name.”

Social Media Reacts

As expected, the internet had plenty to say. While some users came to Marissa’s defense, others had jokes ready. See some of the reactions in The Shade Room Teens comment section.

Capital ‘Z’ or Nah? Let’s Run It Back

After Marissa doubled down and confirmed the correct spelling is “Chozen” with a lowercase “z,” we decided to look back at the original announcement for clarity. In a 2023 post, NLE Choppa shared the news of his son’s birth, captioning the photo “ChoZen Wone Da’Shun Potts.” While it’s unclear whether the spelling with a capital “Z” was intentional at the time or simply a personal touch that has since been updated, it’s safe to say fans aren’t making it up. However, one thing’s for sure: Marissa is going to correct y’all every time.
