28th Meeting of the UK-Belize Association – Repeating Islands

    The 2025 meeting organizers Drs. Neil Stuart and David Howard extend an invitation to the 28th Meeting of the UK-Belize Association. This year’s meeting will take place on October 24, 2025, from 2:00pm to 6:00pm (BST) or 7:00am to 11:00am (BZE) at Kellogg College, University of Oxford, and online. Kellogg College is located at 60-62 Banbury Road, Oxford, UK.

    This year’s program includes discussions on:

    • Updates on recent environmental research in Belize.
    • Reports on current research and work with farmers to cultivate indigenous plants by the Belize Botanic Gardens, the Belize Forestry Department, and the Friends for Conservation and Development in Chiquibul.
    • The role of NGOs working with military veterans to address poaching across Belize’s Protected Areas.
    • Impacts of extreme weather events on agriculture in Belize.
    • The film premiere of the re-discovered photographic archive of the Belize Forest Department from the 1920s.
    • Briefings from the Belize High Commission.
