PlayStation 5 comes with a screenshot and video recording feature, which you can leverage to capture your gameplay or mind-boggling bugs that you can share with your friends. With the Media button, you can effortlessly record these moments. The process of uploading your PS5 media to your mobile phone can be a bit tricky, as it is meant to be done through the first-party PlayStation App. If you’re struggling with the uploading process, you can follow this guide to share your captured media from PS5 to a mobile phone efficiently and learn how to save them in the gallery.

How to Upload Screenshots and Recordings to Your Mobile from PS5?

If you have a knack for frequently capturing screenshots, whether it be a game’s bug or a visually cathartic environment, saving them on your mobile device should be your number one priority. To upload PS5 media on a mobile device, follow this process:

  • Download the PlayStation App from Google’s Play Store or Apple’s App Store.
  • In the app, log in to a PlayStation account.
  • On the console, access the Media Gallery through the Home Bar (Accessible by pressing the PS button on Dualsense)
  • Highlight the recording or screenshot you want to upload to the app
  • Press the Options button and hit X on ‘Upload to PlayStation app’

This will automatically upload the said screenshot to the PlayStation app. However, the app only saves the uploaded screenshot/video for fourteen days. To download media on your mobile phone, go to the Game Library Section and tap on Captures.

You can access all the uploaded media and download them from the aforementioned tab.

Here are some key notes to bear in mind about how the PlayStation app works:

  • Performance and Quality Mode screenshots are captured in 2160×1440 and 3480×2160 resolutions, respectively.
  • PlayStation App doesn’t support recordings over four minutes. You can use a USB drive to copy them to your PC.
