Floyd Schofield Jr. has pulled out of his co-feature fight with Joseph ‘JoJo’ Diaz for November 8, 2025, due to a wrist sprain that will sideline him for 3-6 weeks. It’s a brutal hit for the November 8th event on DAZN.

DAZN Card Takes an Early Hit

The unbeaten, highly ranked lightweight contender Schofield (19-0, 13 KOs) had been scheduled to face the former IBF super featherweight champion ‘JoJo’ Diaz (34-8-1, 15 KOs) in a Golden Boy-promoted event on DAZN on the Vergil Ortiz Jr. vs. Erickson Lubin event at the Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas.

Schofield’s History of Late Pullouts

Fans on social media are jokingly blaming it on Shakur Stevenson, sneaking into Schofield’s room late at night and twisting his wrist to cause the injury. Earlier this year, Schofield had been scheduled to challenge Shakur for his WBC lightweight title on February 22nd, but pulled out on February 18th with an illness.

There were a lot of suspicions about how the dangerous puncher Schofield could have become ill so close to the fight. Some fans suspected foul play, believing he’d been poisoned.

The Spit Bucket Podcast @TSBBoxing broke the news of ‘Kid’ Austin’ Schofield’s wrist sprain earlier today.

It’s not a significant loss for the November 8th card, as Schofield vs. Diaz was viewed as a complete mismatch. Losing Schofield from the card is more about fans not being able to see the talented 23-year-old fighter in action in a showcase fight than about a fight that was considered competitive.

It was a step down in competition for Schofield from his previous fight against Tevin Farmer on June 28, 2025. ‘Kid Austin’ knocked out Farmer in the first round of a scheduled 10-round contest.

‘JoJo’ Diaz, 32, has lost seven of his last night fights (2-7 record) since 2021. He’s a textbook example of how a fighter can suddenly go downhill after a tough loss. In his case, he was beaten in back-to-back 12-round decisions against Devin Haney and William Zepeda in 2021 and 2022. Diaz hasn’t been able to regain the former he once had.
