UK: The luxury Georgian townhouse Eastbury Hotel in Sherborne, Dorset, has been sold by the de Savary family to the Stay Original Company.
It marks the seventh boutique hotel to join the collection.
The Eastbury will be refurbished in 2026 and relaunched with an all day food and beverage offer including a bakery. The hotel’s 26 bedrooms will also be updated with new interiors and bathrooms.
Peter and Lana de Savary bought the Eastbury Hotel in February 2018. It underwent a refurbishment and in 2019, five luxury potting shed bedrooms and a spa were added, all situated within the walled garden.
Lana de Savary said: “Peter and I were pleased to acquire the Eastbury Hotel in 2018 and delighted to spearhead the enhancement and creation of the spa and luxury potting sheds; and to have shared this journey with our wonderful team. I am equally delighted to be passing this on to Rob and James at Stay Original Co.”
Matthew Smith, partner in the hotel agency team of Knight Frank, acted on behalf of the seller.
Rob Greacen and James Brooke-Webb, directors of Stay Original Company, said: “The de Savary family have looked after the Eastbury beautifully and we are delighted to acquire this little jewel in the centre of Sherborne. The beautiful gardens and elegant rooms are a pleasure to work with and we look forward to relaunching the bar, restaurant and rooms next year.”
