It is a $2.57 million dollar project. It will last until the summer of 2026 and will be 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Project details include:
-
Cleaning and painting of the bridge’s superstructure -
Repairing and sealing the concrete deck and sidewalks -
Repairing or replacing expansion joints -
Installing ADA-compliant ramps where needed
Traffic impacts:
-
A temporary traffic signal will be installed, allowing one lane of traffic to remain open on 4th Street throughout the project. -
U.S. Route 50 will experience periodic single-lane closures during cleaning and painting. These closures will be coordinated with the ongoing 2nd Street Bridge project to reduce overall disruption.
For safety, the Third Street exit from U.S. 50 Eastbound will need to close temporarily at times. During those closures, motorists will be detoured via the Chestnut Street eastbound exit to access Third Street and Downtown.
