Jennifer Lawrence is issuing a disclaimer ahead of the release of her new movie costarring Robert Pattinson.

The former Hunger Games and Twilight actors star in Die My Love, a drama about a woman who experiences postpartum depression and enters psychosis. However, during a Wednesday, November 5, appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Lawrence, 35, expressed fears that fans of her and Pattinson’s previous work might be disappointed.

Lawrence gained worldwide fame for playing heroine Katniss Everdeen in the Hunger Games movies released between 2012 and 2015. Pattinson, 39, made his name as shimmering vampire Edward Cullen in the Twilight films released between 2008 and 2012.

“The internet’s going crazy that Katniss and Edward are in a movie together,” Fallon told the Oscar winner on Wednesday night.

When it comes to filming sex scenes for TV shows and movies, actors have had a variety of good and bad experiences. Intimacy coordinator Brooke M. Lawrence responded, “Yeah, well, I’m very nervous that people are gonna, like, sprint to the theater thinking it’s, like, Katniss and Edward fanfic, and it’s not.”

“It’s, like, a very idiosyncratic, poetic, like, work of art,” she continued. “It’s great, but if you’re expecting fanfic, you’re gonna be really disappointed. I’m just afraid it’s gonna come out and everybody’s gonna be mad at me!”

In Die My Love — directed by Lynne Ramsay — Lawrence and Pattinson play a married couple who move from New York City to rural Montana and struggle to acclimate to their new life as parents.

During an appearance on the Wednesday episode of the “Las Culturistas” podcast, Lawrence explained why she declined an intimacy coordinator for her sex scenes with Pattinson.

“We did not have [an intimacy coordinator], or maybe we did but we didn’t really,” Lawrence told cohosts Bowen Yang and Matt Rogers. “I felt really safe with Rob. He is not pervy and very in love with [his partner] Suki Waterhouse.”

Lawrence said she and Pattinson spent a lot of time “just talking about our kids and relationships,” adding, “There was never any weird like, ‘Does he think I like him?’ If there was a little bit of that, I would probably have an intimacy coordinator. A lot of male actors get offended if you don’t want to f*** them, and then the punishment starts. He was not like that.”

Lawrence shares two children with husband Cooke Maroney: son Cy, 3, and a baby the couple welcomed in March. (Lawrence has not publicly revealed the baby’s sex or name.)

In an interview with The New York Times earlier this month, Lawrence opened up about her own experience with postpartum depression, after filming Die My Love while pregnant with her second child.

“Having kids is sacrificial. It’s gratifying and it’s amazing and rewarding, but it’s not not sacrificial. I’d never had to say no to something before that I really wanted to do,” she said.

“My kids and my family are more important, obviously, but they feel like an equal part of me,” she added. “I would not be complete if I couldn’t make movies. I just wouldn’t.”

Die My Love is in theaters on Friday, November 7.
