Return to The Kruger National Park – Part 1.
After arriving at the Johannesburg International Airport and spending the night in the airport hotel, we rented a car and headed east towards the Kruger National Park. After stocking up on supplies we entered through the Crocodile Bridge gate and almost immediately spotted some rhinos, wild dogs, and many more animals.
The temperatures were hot! this is the hottest time of the year. The region was experiencing a brutal heat wave, with temperatures at an all time high, and most of the water sources drying up. Most of the wildlife was trying to escape the mid day heat, but we still enjoyed some amazing sightings just after arriving through the entrance gate. and hanging around the pool mid day was always nice!
The Kruger National Park is one of the greatest national parks for wildlife safari in the world. not only are the wildlife sightings abundant, but the camps and infrastructure allow for an all around great experience. It is one of the most affordable safari experiences in my opinion.
