Arc Raiders just cannot be stopped. The extraction shooter from Embark Studios has once again attracted more players over the weekend than it has in its launch week, and over its first weekend on the market.

The positive reception the PvPvE game has garnered from players has clearly caused many of them to convince their friends to jump into this unique gem of a game.

The day Arc Raiders launched, it peaked at 264,673 concurrent players on Steam. Although not massive, it was quite a bit more than the game’s most popular – free – beta test managed to attract.

That figure was broken yet again over the game’s first weekend, with Arc Raiders having reached 354,836 concurrent players on Steam. This is where many thought it would settle, as we start to see the gradual – and expected – decline of player numbers.

To everyone’s surprise, however, Arc Raiders shattered even that record yet again on Sunday, November 9. According to SteamDB, the game peaked at 462,488 concurrent players on Steam, which is a sizeable increase on its launch day numbers. Indeed, should this trend continue, Arc Raiders is going to be well on its way to doubling its initial launch record.

While a few games have broken their launch Steam player records in the past, it’s incredibly rare to see it happen – especially twice in such a short period after launch. Embark clearly has a winner on its hands here.

Arc Raiders’ next big moment is the game’s first post-launch map, which is set to arrive at some point this month, alongside new Quests and other gameplay items. Seeing as how the Steam concurrent record has been broken twice, there’s every chance the arrival of the new map will bring another boost to player numbers.

And, if you just jumped in over the weekend, you’re definitely going to find these Arc Raiders tips very helpful.
