Mukesh Ambani is now planning to acquire another major British company – Castrol.
British oil giant BP wants to sell its popular lubricant brand Castrol, and Reliance has shown interest in the deal.
In February 2025, BP announced its intention to sell some assets to reduce its debt, and Castrol is part of that plan.
Currently, Castrol is one of the most valuable brands in its industry, and according to Bloomberg, the company could be worth between $8 billion to $10 billion.
Apart from Ambani’s Reliance, several other global investors have also shown interest in the deal.
But what will Reliance gain from this acquisition?
If Ambani successfully acquires Castrol, Reliance’s international brand value will grow significantly.
The company’s presence in the automobile and industrial sectors will also expand.
Moreover, Castrol’s AI cooling technology could boost Reliance’s tech ambitions.
As of now, the deal has not been finalized with any party.
So, the final buyer is yet to be decided.
