We often think self-care requires hours we don’t have, but it doesn’t. A few quiet, intentional moments can restore your peace and help you reconnect with God while you’re at it.

Below you’ll find 10 simple beauty break ideas that will refresh your heart, while also lifting your spirit.

10 Beauty-Break Ideas You Can Do Anytime

Now, some of these may seem a little “cheeky”, but give them a shot. Remember, any time you spend on caring for your body is an act of stewardship that isn’t in vain.

Also, most of these incorporate time with God, but some don’t.

  1. A 15-minute “scripture & scalp massage” break – This will massage more than your scalp. Spending even as little as 15 minutes in the Word of God will “massage” your soul
  2. Braiding & Bible time break – gently braid your hair while listening to scripture being read aloud.
  3. Beauty journaling + gratitude expression break – journal about three things you’re grateful as it relates to your hair, skin or other physical attribute
  4. Mirror time reflections – look at your reflection in the mirror while cleansing your skin and speak the truth of your identity in Christ.
  5. Warm towel wrap + a worship playlist break- apply a little oil throughout your curls, wrap them in a warmed towel, sit back, and listen to some worship music.
  6. At-home mini manicure & devotion break- do a simple 5-minute hand soak, push back your cuticles and neaten up your nails with an emery board. Then, read a short devotional
  7. Reset tea + curl-refresh moment – sit with a warm cup of tea, refresh your curls, and set your intention for the rest of the evening. Bonus points for using a hair tea
  8. Mini Facial Steam With a Worship Song break- Use a facial steam or lean over a hot bowl of water that’s removed from the stove and breathe in deeply while listening to a worship song. Inhale God’s goodness and exhale self-doubt and negative thinking.
