UK: Real estate investor and asset manager Oberland, in partnership with investment platform RealVantage, have acquired the boutique Heathcote Hotel (formerly the ABode Hotel) in Manchester.

The Grade II-listed Heathcote Hotel, originally built in 1899, still retains its grand staircase, original tilework, and a red-sandstone and brick Jacobean-Baroque façade. Oberland plans to restore the property.

The transaction was supported by Swiss Finance & Property Group, with Brodies (legal) and BDO (tax) advising on the acquisition. C1 Capital Partners will lead the hotel’s operations.

“We are thrilled to expand our partnership with RealVantage with this strategic acquisition,” said Andrew Dean, co-founder of Oberland. “Together, we see impressive potential in the Heathcote Hotel and are excited and humbled by the responsibility we have to restore this beautiful, heritage property in Manchester.”

William Riordan, co-founder of Oberland, added: “The property marks another step in our speciality and focus on heritage properties, with its striking architecture and impressive features. We see significant value creation opportunities and look forward to restoring the guest and public experience.”

Earlier this year, Oberland, RealVantage and C1 Capital partnered on the acquisition of Arthouse Hotel in Glasgow.
