TNA has officially locked in a major match for Final Resolution, and it’s going to be for the X-Division Championship.
At the November 15 TNA tapings in Orlando, AJ Francis made his way to the ring and didn’t waste time stirring the pot. He interrupted a segment with Rich Swann and announced that he’s getting an X-Division Title shot at Final Resolution. Francis wasn’t done there—he used the moment to throw shade at Swann before bringing out the champion, Leon Slater.
Slater stood his ground and reminded Francis that Swann is a former World Champion. Francis fired back with a bold claim: “If I was in TNA when you were champion, I would’ve had that title.”
Things turned physical fast. Slater avoided being choke slammed through a table, but Francis grabbed him again and told Swann to hit Slater with the belt. Swann refused. Francis didn’t care. He choke slammed Slater anyway and walked off.
Now it’s official—AJ Francis will challenge Leon Slater for the X-Division Championship at Final Resolution on December 5 at the El Paso County Coliseum in El Paso, Texas. With Francis sending this message early, it’s clear he’s ready to do whatever it takes to leave with the gold.
Will AJ Francis back up his words and walk out as champion, or will Leon Slater find a way to survive and retain? Sound off below and let us know what you think.
