A few days ago a rumor from China claimed Xiaomi is going to unveil the 17 Ultra in December. That would be around two months earlier than its predecessor, which only arrived in February.
Today a new rumor from a tipster over on X claims to narrow down the 17 Ultra’s launch timeline even further, pegging it to the fourth week of December. Checking our calendar, that’s the week that starts on December 22 and ends on December 28.

We’ve seen a lot of launches by Chinese brands happening earlier this year than in 2024, including from Xiaomi with the 17, 17 Pro, and 17 Pro Max, so this isn’t really that surprising. What remains to be seen is whether the Xiaomi 17 Ultra will get an international launch, and if it does, when.
The Xiaomi 15 Ultra was unveiled for global markets at MWC in Barcelona in February, just days after it was revealed in China. Such a quick turnaround probably won’t happen this time around, but will we have to wait until February for its global launch? Only time will tell.
