MSC Cruises has officially established a new homeport in Galveston, Texas, commencing year-round operations with the arrival of the MSC Seascape on November 7, 2025. This milestone was celebrated alongside the ribbon-cutting for the Port of Galveston’s new, state-of-the-art $\$156$ million cruise terminal at Pier 16. Local and company officials, including Mayor Craig Brown and MSC Cruises North America President Lynn Torrent, attended the ceremony, underscoring the commitment to this growing North American port.

The MSC Seascape, a modern Seaside EVO-class ship and a recipient of the “Best Cruise for Families Overall” award by Forbes Vetted, began seven-night Western Caribbean sailings on November 9. The ship, which can accommodate up to 5,877 passengers, is customized for the regional market with a distinct Texas and Southern flair in its onboard offerings, including Cajun pork, pecan pie, and dedicated country line-dancing classes.

The new 165,000-square-foot terminal and its adjacent seven-story, 1,600-space parking garage were completed in 15 months. The complex was specifically designed to ensure a smooth and fast guest experience, offering Galveston’s first on-site, convenient parking option located just steps from the ship. The investment is strategically aimed at the 46 million people within driving distance of the port, positioning Galveston as an attractive alternative to the busier Florida cruise hubs. The terminal will also host Norwegian Cruise Line’s Norwegian Viva starting in December.
