Samsung is expected to launch its Galaxy S26 series in February and rumors suggest we will see the return of the Exynos chipset in most regions. The S26 and S26+ will be equipped with Exynos 2600 in markets like Korea and Europe, while North America will get the Snapdragon 8 Gen Elite 5 chip instead. The S26 Ultra will reportedly get the Snapdragon chip in all regions.
According to a new report from South Korea’s ChosunBiz based on industry sources, Samsung Electronics’ System LSI and Samsung Electronics’ MX divisions are currently negotiating on lowering the price of Exynos 2600 by $20 to $30 per unit.

This does not necessarily mean that the Galaxy S26 with the Exynos 2600 will be $20-$30 cheaper than the Snapdragon 8 Gen Elite Gen 5 version, but more so that Samsung will increase its profit margins for each Exynos phone.
The new report also mentions that while the Exynos 2600 has shown good promise in benchmarking results, it is too early to tell if that will translate to real-world usage. The Exynos 2600 is expected to be fabbed on Samsung’s 2nm process, featuring a deca-core 1+3+6 CPU configuration with peak clock speeds of 3.8GHz.
The chip is reportedly ready to edge out the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip by 29% in the GPU department. Rumors also suggest that the Exynos 2600 will offer 14% faster CPU performance and 75% speedier GPU scores compared to the Apple A19 Pro chip found in the iPhone 17 Pro models.
