For many Switch 2 owners, this week belongs to Kirby Air Riders, but the delightful racing game isn’t the only big Nintendo-published game releasing tomorrow. The physical edition of the newly minted Game of the Year nominee Hades 2 launches exclusively on Nintendo consoles November 20. If you still need to preorder a copy, you may still be eligible for release-day delivery from Amazon with a Prime membership.
Hades 2’s physical edition retails for $50 and is in stock at Amazon, Best Buy, Walmart, Target, and GameStop. It’s packaged in a Nintendo Switch 2 box, but the game card is also fully compatible with original Switch consoles. The $50 price point is $20 higher than the digital version that released on the eShop and PC in September, but game collectors will be happy to know all of the data is on the card.

The Nintendo Switch 2 version of Hades 2 runs at 120fps when docked and 60fps in handheld mode. Both modes are displayed in 1080p resolution. The Switch 2 edition also has improved textures, lighting, and visual effects. On original Switch, Hades II runs in 720p with stable 60fps performance. If you already have a save file on PC, you can transfer it to your Nintendo console.
The sequel to the wildly popular 2020 roguelite action-RPG exited early access September 25 as a timed exclusive for Nintendo consoles and PC. Remarkably, Supergiant Games’ sequel is even better than the excellent original. It earned a rare 10/10 in GameSpot’s Hades 2 review.
If you want to play Hades 2 and the new Kirby game on launch day, Amazon is also offering release-day delivery for Kirby Air Riders. The new racing game retails for $70 and is only playable on Nintendo Switch 2.
