Hawaii is raising the state’s hotel tax by 0.75% to generate an estimated $100 million annually for environmental expenses such as fire breaks, erosion control and beach cleanup. Gov. Josh Green said the extra fee on tourists is a price of living with climate change. “In order to protect and maintain Hawaii and paradise, we have to have dedicated resources,” he tells “NewsNation Now.”
