The Bermuda National Gallery (BNG) presents “The Art of Michael K. Frith: From Pencil to Puppet,” to celebrate the life and work of one of Bermuda-born artist and television producer Michael K. Frith. The exhibition, curated by Eve Godet Thomas and designed by Linda Weinraub, opens to the public October 17, 2025. It will remain on display to April 2026. The BNG is located at 11 Bermudiana Road, Hamilton, Bermuda.

Description: The Art of Michael K. Frith: From Pencil to Puppet celebrates the life and work of one of Bermuda’s most accomplished living creatives, Michael K. Frith (Bermudian, b. 1941), and his enormous contribution to the worlds of entertainment, education and popular culture. Frith began his career as a children’s book editor and illustrator, working closely with Theodor Seuss Geisel (Dr. Seuss) before joining Jim Henson Productions, where he remained for over 20 years. During this time, hedesigned countless Muppet characters, including Dr. Teeth and Fozzie Bear, and was the Conceptual Designer and Co-Creator of Fraggle Rock– his most personal project, which was directly inspired by his childhood growing up in Bermuda. [. . .]

The pencil and puppet remain at the core of his creative practice today, as does the magic of Bermuda. “On some level, Bermuda influences everything,” he says. “Probably in ways I’ll never know, it shaped the way I either see the world – or, perhaps, would like to.” [. . .]

Exclusive BNG Members’ Preview on Thursday, October 16. Become a member to receive your invitation. Exhibition opens to the public on October 17, 2025.
