Parker–Wardley undercard: IBO World Championship between Jurgen Uldedaj and Rolly Lambert Fogoum

When the two heavyweights Joseph Parker and Fabio Wardley meet on October 25 at the O2 Arena in London, it will be the first time that a cruiserweight, who is well known in Germany, will be fighting for a world title.

Jurgen Uldedaj (20-1, 8 KOs) has worked hard to earn his way to the top of the cruiserweight division. Currently, the 28-year-old Albanian-born boxer, who lives in Germany, is ranked #19 in the BoxRec world rankings.

In 21 professional fights, he has achieved 20 victories; his only defeat came in an otherwise not very noteworthy eight-round bout against Benoit Huber. This unnecessary defeat apparently marked a turning point in Uldedaj’s life.

Since leaving SES in 2021, he has fought almost all of his bouts in Great Britain, but has also boxed in Germany, Switzerland, and Dubai.

With strong victories over opponents such as Steven Ward, Damir Beljo, Edin Puhalo, and most recently Gerardo Mellado, Jurgen Uldedaj, who became WBC Youth World Champion in 2021, has worked his way back up.

Now, in London, he faces Rolly Lambert Fogoum (18-3-1, 14 KOs) for the vacant IBO World Championship. The Cameroonian was able to qualify for the title fight after celebrating two stoppage victories following his consecutive defeats against Zhaoxin Zhang and Tervel Pulev.

Jurgen Uldedaj is currently preparing intensively for his upcoming and so far most important match. The “big stage” of the O2 Arena in the London district of Greenwich, and the fact that he is once again fighting on a card promoted by the successful British promoter Frank Warren (Queensberry), could, in the event of victory, pave his way to the very top — and perhaps even earn him a contract with that very promoter.
