Performance Mode Switch

And while if you’re like me and prefer smooth frames, being able to not freeze is even better. The solution is one of the ways to get around it, and even Larian has confirmed it as a temporary fix to the problem.
To change it, first head to the Settings menu. Next, navigate to the Video tab and select it. Once you are here, there will be a section that is labeled as General. In here, you can select to turn Performance on or off. Once you change it to off, the game will be in Quality mode. Then you can go back to playing the game. However, this is not the only way to get around the freezing.
Play 4-Player Multiplayer
The freezing issue occurs on PS5 due to interaction with the character sidebar. So, by having a full party of players, you don’t need to worry about interacting with the sidebar. Which, in turn, stops the freezing problem from happening. Additionally, Baldur’s Gate 3 is more enjoyable with other players to enjoy it with. While it’s not a great way to deal with the issue, you don’t need to worry about the game freezing this way.
Save Reloading
Another workaround is to reload your save. The game saves a lot, but just in case, make a recent save. Then, reload an older save file, and once it loads, proceed to load the most recent save.
