Summary: Rashmika and Sonu Sood express grief over the Kurnool bus incident, calling for better safety norms.

The heartbreaking bus fire near Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh, has left the entire country shaken. A sleeper bus carrying 46 people caught fire after hitting a motorcycle on the way from Hyderabad to Bengaluru late at night. What was meant to be a normal trip turned into a nightmare. Only 23 people survived.

Rashmika Mandanna, visibly moved by the tragedy, shared a heartfelt note on her Instagram stories. “The news has been weighing heavily on my heart. I can’t imagine what those passengers must have gone through inside that burning bus. My prayers are with every family who lost someone,” she wrote.

Actor and humanitarian Sonu Sood also reacted strongly to the incident. In a post that quickly went viral, he said, “Nearly 40 lives lost in two weeks to bus fires. People travel to see their families, not meet their end. It’s time we bring strict safety norms — safer wiring, emergency exits. Enough is enough.”

A lot of Indians are feeling the same things right now: sadness, anger, and shock. Accidents like these keep happening, and each time, promises are made, but rarely is an action taken. Late-night highway buses often operate without proper maintenance or safety checks, and the passengers pay the price.

After the accident, the government of Andhra Pradesh gave ₹5 lakh to the families of the people who died and ₹2 lakh to the people who were hurt. But no amount of compensation can make up for the loss of lives that could have been prevented.

Rashmika’s grief and Sonu’s call for accountability reflect a far broader demand: for the government and transportation agencies to finally take road safety seriously.
