Hidden along PR-301 in Boquerón, Cabo Rojo, lies the abandoned Bahía Salinas Beach Resort — later known as Grand Bahía Ocean View Hotel. Built beside Puerto Rico’s famous salt flats, it once offered 27 Spanish-style rooms, pools, and a peaceful view of the Caribbean.
But everything changed after Hurricane Maria (2017) devastated the island. The small resort never recovered, and later storms like Hurricane Fiona (2022) sealed its fate. By 2024 it was officially listed as a “former beachfront hotel” — rooms empty, pools overtaken by nature, and the lobby frozen in time.
