As European countries rush to shore up their defences amid the ongoing war in Ukraine, Australian companies are capitalising on a new age of drone warfare.
Droneshield is one Australian company making a killing from anti-drone technology that scrambles a drone’s signal, sending it crashing to earth.
The company’s chief executive, Oleg Vornik says it’s, “Unfortunate for humanity but it’s been a positive for DroneShield, we’ve seen a huge amount of demand.”
Chief executive of Electro Optic Systems Andreas Schwer says, “Any future war will be decided in space. I think that is undisputed among militaries.”
Australian defence exports have skyrocketed in the past three years. Australian companies like DroneShield, Austal and EOS have seen their share prices surge, with analysts warning that demand for defence tech is unlikely to let up any time soon.
