The brand-new Park Hyatt Johannesburg is now accepting reservations just under three months before it is set to open in the South African city.
The highly anticipated property, which is a conversion of the Winston Hotel and sits by the popular Rosebank area of the city, is accepting reservations for stays starting Aug. 1, according to the hotel’s website. The intimate space will be the world’s smallest Park Hyatt, General Manager Mitch Gemmell told The Points Guy, featuring just 31 rooms and suites.
“Every element — including the curated guest experiences, dining, rooms [and] suites — have been thoughtfully considered to create an intimate and sophisticated retreat in the heart of Rosebank,” Gemmell told TPG.
“Our focus is on delivering understated luxury, where the art of hospitality is defined by personalized service, curated experiences and a deep sense of place,” Gemmell added. “As we prepare to welcome our first guests, our vision remains clear: to offer an experience that is both globally sophisticated and deeply connected to Johannesburg’s vibrant energy.”
When it does open, rooms at the Park Hyatt Johannesburg will boast luxurious spa-like round soaking tubs, modern marble and glass touches, and plush seating options. Rooms will also feature private terraces overlooking the hotel’s lush gardens. The property will have several suites, including a Wellness Suite with special relaxation spaces and rejuvenating amenities.
Outside, guests will have year-round access to the heated courtyard pool. And dining promises to be a distinct experience thanks to a trio of options: The Dining Room, showcasing open-flame cooking; The Terrace, where guests can eat in the open air; and The Lounge, a casual indoor space focused on Cape wines and Cuban cigars.

Just beyond the property’s walls, Gemmell said the nearby Rosebank area “is home to some of the city’s most exciting restaurants, design studios and contemporary art spaces, offering guests an immersive and enriching stay.”
Cash rates for the Park Hyatt Johannesburg start at $486 per night for World of Hyatt members or $511 for nonmembers for a stay in August, according to a search on the hotel’s website. When using points, rates start at 20,000 points per night, as this will be a Category 6 property.
