You can also transfer Marriott Bonvoy points to Virgin Atlantic Flying Club at a 3:1 ratio, with a 5,000-point bonus awarded for every 60,000 Marriott Bonvoy points you transfer to the airline. This means 60,000 Marriott Bonvoy points are worth 25,000 Virgin Atlantic points.
You’re not limited to redeeming your Virgin Atlantic points for flights. Virgin Atlantic points can also be transferred to Virgin Red points, which you can then redeem with other Virgin brands, such as Virgin Hotels, Virgin Voyages and Virgin Wines.
Chase Virgin Atlantic 25% transfer bonus
As mentioned above, you can transfer Chase Ultimate Rewards points to Virgin Atlantic Flying Club with a 25% bonus through June 15. This means 1,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points transfer to 1,250 Virgin Atlantic points, making your redemptions less expensive regardless of how you redeem them.
These transfers usually process instantly — you might need to sign in and out of your Virgin Atlantic account — but in most cases, you should only transfer when you’re ready to redeem points. This means you should find availability on a flight you’d like to book and then transfer your Ultimate Rewards points to Virgin Atlantic. Otherwise, you could be left with points you can’t use.

Look at the top of the Ultimate Rewards portal, and click the “Travel” button at the top of the screen. Then, select “Transfer points to partners” from the drop-down menu.

How to leverage the Chase Virgin Atlantic transfer bonus
There are dozens of ways to redeem Virgin Atlantic Flying Club points, but some provide much better value than others. Below, I’ll run you through three of my favorite Virgin Atlantic redemptions and how to book them with the current 25% transfer bonus from Chase to Virgin Atlantic.
Fly to London for as low as 5,000 points
Virgin Atlantic recently moved from award chart pricing to dynamic pricing for its own flights, and, surprisingly, prices went down across the board. Both the award rates and the taxes and fees are priced dynamically, with the cheapest transatlantic flights costing just 6,000 Virgin Atlantic points in economy and 29,000 points in business class. These prices drop to just 5,000 and 24,000 Chase points transferred to Virgin Atlantic during this transfer bonus in economy and business class, respectively.
You’ll usually have the best luck finding awards at the lowest levels from East Coast airports like New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) and Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) to LHR. For example, on multiple days in November, flights from JFK to LHR are just 6,000 points in economy, 10,500 points in premium economy and 29,000 points in Upper Class. With the 25% transfer bonus, you can transfer 5,000, 9,000 and 24,000 points to Virgin Atlantic for economy, premium economy and business class, respectively.
Alternatively, you can book an Upper Class ticket from Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) to MAN this November for 32,000 Virgin points and $262 in taxes and fees. This requires transferring just 26,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points during the 25% transfer bonus.
Run your own searches, and see if you can find a flight that fits your needs. These low award rates, plus a 25% transfer bonus from Chase to Virgin Atlantic, mean you can book transatlantic business-class tickets for the cost of an economy ticket with other programs.

Domestic Delta flights from 6,000 points
While not as exciting as a transatlantic business-class ticket, you can also get a good deal on short-haul domestic Delta flights with Virgin Atlantic Flying Club. These flights are priced based on a distance-based award chart that you can view below. You’ll get the best deal on flights that travel no more than 500 miles, as these cost just 7,500 points in economy. During the 25% transfer bonus, you can transfer 6,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points to book these awards.

Most Delta award tickets are bookable on Virgin Atlantic’s website, but award availability can be limited. If you’re booking flights over 500 miles, compare award pricing with Air France-KLM Flying Blue, which also has a 25% transfer bonus from Chase Ultimate Rewards through June 15.
ANA business class to Japan from 42,000 points
Virgin Atlantic has long been one of the best ways to book ANA business- and first-class tickets from the U.S. to Japan. Pricing depends on where you fly from, with flights from the West Coast to Japan being cheaper than flights from the Midwest and the East Coast.
Canada and the western U.S. to/from Japan:
- Economy: 30,000 Virgin points (24,000 Chase points with 25% transfer bonus)
- Business class: 52,500 points (42,000 Chase points with 25% transfer bonus)
- First class: 72,500 points (58,000 Chase points with 25% transfer bonus)
Eastern U.S. to/from Japan:
- Economy: 32,500 points (26,000 Chase points with 25% transfer bonus)
- Business class: 60,000 points (48,000 Chase points with 25% transfer bonus)
- First class: 85,000 points (68,000 Chase points with 25% transfer bonus)
Unfortunately, you cannot book these flights online. Instead, find ANA award space on United Airlines’ website and call Virgin Atlantic to book your ticket. Flights that say “Operated by All Nippon Airways” can be booked with Virgin Atlantic Flying Club at the prices above. However, you should only transfer points from Chase to Virgin Atlantic after you confirm bookable award space over the phone.
