Qualcomm has just announced its new intermediary flagship SoC, the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4, and the first devices with it will come very soon. It seems that Honor’s upcoming Honor 400 is set to be one of the debut smartphones for this chipset. The device appeared earlier this month on Geekbench and was listed with a Snapdragon 7 Gen 3. Now, it seems that the CPU was, in fact, the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4. It appeared on Geekbench with a different core cluster and a new GPU.

The Honor 400 scores 1,351 points in the Single-Core tests and 4,145 points in the Multi-Core tests. The new chipset has a 1+4+3 layout with one Prime Core at 2.8 GHz. There are four performance cores at 2.4 GHz. The energy efficiency has three cores that run at 1.8 GHz. According to Qualcomm itself, the new CPU brings a 27% bump in CPU performance when compared to the last-gen chip. On paper, this is a considerable improvement that users will notice.

Another notable upgrade is the new GPU, which also brings a 30% performance gain. It also gets new Snapdragon Elite Gaming features like Adaptive Performance Engine 4.0. It has been limited to the flagship Snapdragon chips, but now it has entered the mid-range market.

Alleged Specifications

The Honor 400 will arrive as soon as in the next month. It might be one of the first smartphones with the new Snapdragon 7 Gen 4. According to the leaked screenshot of the about page in Settings, the phone will have 12 GB of RAM and will support an extra 12 GB of virtual RAM. It will also feature a massive 7,200 mAh battery and will have a resolution of 2,736 x 1,264 pixels.

The new Honor 400 and Honor 400 Pro will launch on May 22 at a special event in London, United Kingdom. They will feature an innovative AI Image to Video feature that allows users to generate short clips from still images. The phone will run Android 15 based on Magic OS 9 but will eventually get Android 16 and a new MagicOS update once it becomes available.
