macOS Tahoe 26: These are the Macs that support the new system

Today, Apple officially unveiled macOS 26. And yes, as rumored, it’s called Tahoe. But one of the first questions most Mac users always ask is: Will my Mac support it? If that’s you, here’s the full compatibility list.

Alongside iOS 26, iPadOS 26, and the rest of the renamed OS lineup, macOS 26 brings the new Liquid Glass refreshed look, new Continuity experiences with the Phone app and Live Activities, improved Spotlight, and the new Games app.

However, as expected, the system drops support for a few older models. Here’s the full list of Macs that will be able to run macOS Tahoe 26, according to Apple’s official list:

  • MacBook Pro with Apple silicon (2020 and later)
  • MacBook Pro (16‑inch, 2019)
  • MacBook Pro (13‑inch, 2020, Four Thunderbolt 3 ports)
  • MacBook Air with Apple silicon (2020 and later)
  • iMac (2020 and later)
  • Mac mini (2020 and later)
  • Mac Studio (2022 and later)
  • Mac Pro (2019 and later)

As with past updates, even if your Mac makes the cut, certain features (especially those powered by Apple Intelligence) may still be limited to more recent models.
