R. Kelly Reportedly Hospitalized for Drug Overdose, Wants to Be Released From Prison After Alleging He’s Not Receiving Medical Care

R. Kelly was reportedly hospitalized for a drug overdose.

If you don’t know, the 58-year-old disgraced singer is serving a 30 year prison sentence from his 2021 conviction on racketeering and sex trafficking charges. He was also sentenced to 20 years in prison in regard to his child pornography and enticement of a minor charges.

Now, a new report has emerged.

USA Today saw court documents that stated that last week, he was given “additional medication to what he normally takes,” which led to a hospitalization. He was then apparently “forcibly removed from Duke University Hospital in Durham, North Carolina, against medical advice.”

The Breakfast Club added that R. Kelly has a swollen leg and brought it up while in the hospital. They might have found blood clots in his legs and lungs, but he was allegedly removed from the hospital without treatment. His lawyers are alleging he’s not receiving care and could be killed from this. They are supposedly trying to get him released.

Not much additional information is available right now. TMZ also posted, “R. Kelly was reportedly rushed to the hospital from an overdose of medications in prison. More to come.”
