Have you ever come home after a long day to turn on your PlayStation 5 and play something only to find out that it’s giving you a DNS error? Internet problems aren’t anything new, but they all seem to happen at the most convenient times. Fortunately, many of these errors have a ton of fixes that you can use to get you back up and gaming. So, we wrote out every possible fix you can go through to fix a DNS error on your PS5.

Fixing DNS Error on PlayStation 5

There are a few steps you’ll want to go through if you encounter a DNS error while on your PS5. So, follow these instructions:

  1. Head to the PS5’s System Settings.
  2. Go into the Network Settings.
  3. Select the Set Up Internet Connection option.
  4. Hover over your desired network connection and press the Options button on your controller.
  5. Go into the Advanced Settings.
  6. Scroll down and select the DNS Settings.
    • Switch the option from Automatic to Manual.
  7. Replace the Primary DNS with 8.8.8.8.
  8. Replace the Secondary DNS with 8.4.8.4.
  9. Once completed, you can press the OK button on the bottom right of the screen.

After this, you should be able to connect to internet and be rid of the issue. Other options and fixes include restarting your consolerestarting your modem and router, and checking to see if PlayStation is undergoing any kind of maintenance.
