PADUCAH — After assessing the extended forecast data, WPSD-TV meteorologists have extended the Weather Authority Alert through the middle of this week.

Hot and humid air stays settled in the region with air temperatures warming into the lower- to mid-90s, and the “Feels Like/Heat index” temperatures from 103 to 106 degrees through Friday. This is the hottest air of the year so far. Some folks may need cooling stations and hydration will be important.

Hot air continues through next weekend but the heat index will finally fall under 100 degrees by Saturday.

WPSD is extending the WAA from through at least midnight Wednesday.
