#3,330 – The Pentagon Pizza Report
June 25, 2025 by Craig Shames
There’s a lot going on in the world right now as the U.S. and Israel square off with Iran in a conflict that could spawn into World War III. It’s hard to keep up with everything that’s happening let alone predict what’s going to happen next. Especially when the U.S. is using stealth bombers and running multiple operations to confuse Iran with subterfuge and misdirection. But if you were to simply monitor how much pizza is being eaten you might be able to predict major events before they happen.
The premise is relatively simple: by monitoring the foot traffic in pizza places near the Pentagon you’ll know if workers went home at normal working hours or if they’re burning the midnight oil on an overtime shift. And as it turns out tracking pizza consumption has a long track record of success.
As USA Today puts it:
“Amid indications that Israel was preparing a strike, someone outside the world of classified intelligence saw it − or something − coming.
‘As of 6:59 pm ET nearly all pizza establishments nearby the Pentagon have experienced a HUGE surge in activity,’ the account Pentagon Pizza Report posted on X on June 12, pointing to We The Pizza, Domino’s Pizza, District Pizza Palace and Extreme Pizza…
At around 10 p.m., the account shared that Freddie’s Beach Bar, a gay bar near the Pentagon, had ‘abnormally low traffic for a Thursday night. Potentially indicating a busy night at the Pentagon.’
The Guardian reported that pizza deliveries to the Pentagon surged right before the U.S. invasion of Panama in 1989 and Operation Desert Storm in 1991.”
Some people may prefer to use prediction markets like Polymarket to gain insight into what most people think will happen, but I think I’ll stick with the pizza. The correlation is clear. As the orders come down the pizza orders come in.
Is the Pentagon Pizza Report the Greatest Idea Ever?
