Chelsea must sell Malo Gusto to give his minutes to Josh Acheampong

Josh Acheampong should not be loaned out this summer and in fact, Malo Gusto should be sold to make way for Josh – for me it’s now THAT simple.

I’m not even writing Gusto off yet as much as many others are because I remember just how good he was when he first arrived. But even with that in mind, we need to sell him, and it’s not even got anything to do with Gusto, it’s got everything to do with Josh Acheampong.

This guy is a real player, a superb player, and he has the ability to be a world beater if used right and if invested in. This summer, it is time for Chelsea to invest in Josh.

He was played as a left back overnight in Chelsea’s 3-0 win over ES Tunis but he still looked absolutely superb. He can play in a number of different positions and not just look comfortable there, but look very good there.

I can’t have Gusto taking his minutes and space in the squad next season. Josh needs to stay and back up Reece James and we all know he will get SO many minutes if he does this.

Josh can ONLY go on loan if Gusto is staying, but for me, I’d be selling Gusto and investing the time in Josh.

It’s time for Enzo Maresca and the club to stand up here and make a big call. We can spin some tidy profit on Gusto now and invest our time in one of the best players to come out of Chelsea’s academy in many years.

Josh has it all and is a complete player. I have no doubt that he will be world class one day in the very near future. As well as the clear quality and technical ability, physically he is MADE for the Premier League; standing at 6ft 4in tall already at just 19 and having a strong build to go with it. He’s only going to get bigger and better.
