A ROOSTER AND A KANGAROO RULE THE ROADS OF AFRICA

Key Highlights from Stage 3:

Stage 3 of the race saw competitors gear up for a grueling 518 km trek — with 246 km of that against the clock — as they made their way back to Sun City, the rally HQ they left behind just yesterday under the no-frills marathon rules.

In the car category, Dacia hit back at Toyota with a solid one-two punch: Nasser Al Attiyah stormed to a stage win, while Sébastien Loeb danced his way into the overall lead.

Over in Challenger, David Zille (BBR Motorsport) made it two stage wins, leading teammate Nicolás Cavigliasso, who slipped a bit in the overall standings. Mário Franco (Francosport) also doubled down in SSV, extending his lead with another stage win.

Daniel Sanders (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing) proved he’s got no problem blazing the trail, grabbing the RallyGP stage win and padding his overall lead. His teammate Edgar Canet mirrored that in Rally2 with another strong performance.

The quad category? That’s Thunder Racing territory. CFMoto struck again with another one-two finish: Gaëtan Martinez topped the stage ahead of Antanas Kanopkinas, both in the daily and overall rankings.

And the adventure’s far from over. Stage 4 kicks off tomorrow at 8:30 a.m. and will be the longest of the week — a whopping 694 km total, with 224 km of timed racing. The South African saga rolls on!
