Shakan Pitters vs Brad Rea fight details
“By any means necessary,” says Shakan Pitters ahead of tomorrow night’s clash with Brad Rea for the European light-heavyweight championship at GBM: DEEP WATERS, live on DAZN from 7pm at Hull’s newest arena, Connexins Live.
Rea has other ideas, saying that Pitters “doesn’t know how good I am… I am completely confident of stopping him.”
Their main event bout is for the EBU European Light-Heavyweight Championship, a belt which has carried something of a curse in 2025: this is now the third time Pitters has entered a fight week for this title.
The previous two ended in last-minute cancellations – literally, in the case of former champion Dos Santos pulling out with ‘illness’ minutes before the April bout – but this time both Pitters and Rea are locked in for what is sure to be a hard fought contest for a belt which will unlock big future opportunities for the winner.
Also looking for big opportunities is Belfast’s Sean McComb. The super-lightweight is looking for a busy second half of 2025 and has called out Dalton Smith and Adam Azim among others.
And new signing Gradus Kraus aims for another impressive win. The lightning-fast light-heavyweight is drawing a lot of attention in his native Netherlands as the best young prospect the country has seen in generations and will have a huge television audience tuning in in his homeland.
SHAKAN PITTERS (20-2, 7 KO’s)
I’ll get the win by all means necessary. I’ve put my body through the trenches in camp and we’re ready to lift this belt. All the build up, all the training, all the work I put into the gym. I’ve had time out and I’ve managed to work on so many things in my game. Saturday night, everyone will see me put on a clinical display, for sure.
BRAD REA (20-1, 10 KO’s)
“I’m not doing twelve rounds – it’s too long that! He’s a good fighter and he’s been at a good level but I know what I can do. He thinks I’m good but he doesn’t know how good I am. We respect each other, there’s no hard feelings. He’s a nice guy, he works hard and he has the same goals as me,. But for that belt on Saturday night I can flip the switch easily. I’m completely confident of stopping him.
SEAN McCOMB (18-2, 5 KO’s)
Everyone who wants it can have it. I’m calling Dalton Smith out, Pierce O’Leary, Adam Azim, they can all have it. I’ve got a great promoter behind me now in GBM and Izzy Asif and we’re hoping to get active now and maybe have three fights before Christmas. I’m looking for big fights and big names, anyone who moves me up the ladder.
