On June 26, Raphaël Hosty, Minister of Public Works, inaugurated the Saint Michel de l’Attalaye Road Maintenance Center (Artibonite) in the presence of local elected officials, technical partners, and members of the population.
This modern center, the result of the Rural Accessibility and Resilience Project (PARR), carried out with the support of the World Bank, the United Nations Office for Project Services in Haiti (UNOPS), and the Ministry’s Central Implementation Unit (UCE), aims to strengthen road maintenance and improve access in isolated areas. This center will serve the departments of Artibonite, Centre, Nord, and Nord-East.
Equipped with essential technical infrastructure: a repair shop, washing area, storage, drainage system, etc…, it symbolizes the government’s commitment to a more sustainable road network.
In his speech, Minister Hosty highlighted the importance of this inauguration. “It is a step towards the modernization of our national road network and a concrete commitment to opening up our country’s rural areas.”
