The SPNH-17 denounces certain police officers

The Haitian National Police Union (SPNH-17) strongly condemns the behavior of certain police officers who often display a contemptuous and disrespectful attitude toward their colleagues who work daily in the field to ensure the safety of the population. “We note with deep concern that some of these officers, who are not directly involved in operational work on the ground, often act with arrogance, negligence, and superiority toward other police officers on the front lines. The SPNH-17 considers this act unacceptable and reiterates that all police officers, regardless of their position, must respect one another and place the dignity of the profession before any preference or title. All members of the Haitian National Police, without distinction, are soldiers engaged in the same fight for the security and stability of the country.”

The STTH calls for civil disobedience

The Haitian Land Transport Sector (STTH) expresses its outrage and outrage at the decision of Romuald Petit, Director General of the DGI (Directorate General of Taxation), to officially launch the process of renewing the tax sticker for the current fiscal year. It reiterates that, as of June 24, all vehicle owners must report to the Directorate General of Taxation (DGI). The STTH and its allies declare their readiness to rebel against this measure and call on motorists to engage in civil disobedience, pending the unblocking of the RN1 and RN2 national roads, as well as interurban roads, in accordance with the fundamental right to free movement.

Advisor Laurent Saint-Cyr makes a plea in London

Presidential Advisor Laurent Saint-Cyr participated in a special conference on Haiti in London last week organized by Chatham House, one of the world’s leading international policy institutes. At this high-level event, he spoke and advocated for increased support for the Multinational Mission for Security Support (MMSS) and national security forces.

France : Mangrove Restoration

In Mesle Bay, with the Haitian Biodiversity Fund, France is supporting a mangrove restoration project. The local community is involved in restoring this ecosystem, which serves as a fish nursery and a barrier against hurricanes.

Dogs : Rabies Vaccination Campaign

The Ministry of Agriculture, with the support of the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO/WHO) in Haiti and the CDC Global Health, launched a canine rabies vaccination campaign in the Northeast department earlier this week during a ceremony in Fort-Liberté. This campaign aims to vaccinate 140,000 dogs (70 to 80% of the estimated canine population of 175,000) in 17 municipalities across four departments : North, Northwest, Artibonite, and Center, through the mobilization of 240 teams of two agents.

Southeast PNH : Strengthening Efficiency

Divisional Commissioner Jean Gabriel Gabart, Acting Departmental Director of the Southeast Police, recently held an important meeting with all of the department’s service managers. The purpose of this meeting was to review the activities carried out by the Police Institution throughout the Southeast department and discuss operational issues with a view to coordinating strategic actions and strengthening the effectiveness of security measures in the Southeast department.
