🌟 Your health journey starts now—let’s do this together! 🌟

In this episode, MC shares the FDA’s recent approval of tripeptide for obstructive sleep apnea. Few treatments exist for Obstructive Sleep Apnea, and having one of the GLP1/GIP drugs shows another health problem that is being helped by these new drugs. The GLP1/GIP drugs have been shown to help with heart disease and failure, diabetes, and weight loss. More studies are going on to see what other clinical diseases or disorders may be helped by these drugs.

The challenge is scientists still don’t quite understand how these drugs work in the brain. We know these drugs slow down digestion, which has been shown to benefit diabetes and weight loss. Still, these other areas of health problems are not immediately apparent in terms of the mechanism of how these medications help. More research is needed on how these drugs interact with our hormones and the brain-gut connection.

MC is glad that this drug has helped her achieve a goal that has been a lifelong struggle, but there is an unknown of how these drugs will be covered in the future. Her current insurance is increasing the copay to $300 per month for those who are using the medication for weight loss. Again, this feels like bias because we know that being overweight is a medical issue when you are obese, so why are they increasing the copay to such a high amount? It definitely feels prejudicial. We must advocate for weight loss drugs to be reasonably priced and accessible. We all know that our health improves when we can lower our weight, increase our muscle tone, and improve our functioning. All of this improves our brain, which means better mental health.

We must continue to understand more about our health and environment and what elements have made being overweight and obese an increased problem in our world at this time. Are we exposing ourselves to toxins? What about all the plastic products and the increased plastic in our bodies. Let’s all support each other in stopping using plastic if possible and increasing our use of less toxic products.

Be well, my friends. We have this one precious life; let’s live it intentionally. 🌿💚 📌 Disclaimer: The views shared here are solely for education and entertainment.
