Joey Chestnut is now a 17-time champion of the Nathan’s Famous Hot Dog Eating Contest!

The 41-year-old competitive eater returned to the competition for the 2025 edition on Friday (July 4) in New York City’s Coney Island.

Joey was not allowed to compete at the 2024 event due an endorsement deal that he had signed with Impossible Foods, which sells plant-based hot dogs.

Competitors were given 10 minutes to eat as many hot dogs and buns as they could.

Joey came in first place with 70.5 hot dogs consumed, which didn’t beat his 2021 record of 76 hot dogs.

Patrick Bertoletti came in second place with 46.5 hot dogs and James Webb came in third place with 45.5 hot dogs. Miki Sudo won the women’s competition with 33 hot dogs, though it’s far lower than the record she set last year with 51 hot dogs.

There was a crazy moment that happened to Joey at the 2022 event.
